Rob Salmon passionately believes tennis and pickleball can bring happiness, life skills & friendship.
My Journey In Tennis and Pickleball
Tennis has been a positive part of my life for as long as I can remember!
As a child I played County Tennis for Cumbria and then for Derbyshire. I went to an American University to play tennis and football and as an adult have won Senior titles at the Derbyshire Closed.
I met my wife Beccy through tennis and am now a parent to three children - Phoebe, Stanley and Ned - who all play tennis and have attended Derbyshire County Coaching. Being a tennis parent has given me an insight into the pressures put on young players and I have striven to develop an approach for them that keeps it fun as I believe enjoyment is the driving force that will keep them playing.
Through my times in tennis I made enduring friendships and learnt how to be resilient, how to perform in front of an audience and how to handle pressure. These skills have served me well in my career in sports and marketing working alongside brands such as The Premier League, Football League, Slazenger, Dunlop, UEFA, Manchester United, Samsung, Yahoo and Carling.

I am a Level 3 tennis coach and I am LTA Accredited+. I was super excited to be named Derbyshire Tennis Development Coach of the Year in March 2022.
My journey in pickleball is a more recent adventure - but boy oh boy it is an adventure I am loving! Pickleball is such a fun sport for the whole family. I have absolutely loved learning to play and have now undertaken my coaching qualifications. I was delighted to become the Derbyshire representative for Pickleball England. Such a brilliant sport.
